Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Location data: With your permission, we use your device location to retrieve local UV index and weather forecasts. Location is sent to our weather service only as approximate coordinates to fetch a forecast and is not stored to identify you.

Skin scan photos: If you use the AI skin scan, the selfie you capture is sent securely to our server and processed by our AI provider to estimate skin type and tan level. Photos are processed to produce your result and are not used to train third-party models.

Health data: With your permission, we read daylight time and write sun-related metrics (such as Vitamin D) to Apple Health. This data stays on your device and in Apple Health unless you choose to share it.

Usage and device data: We collect anonymized product analytics (feature usage, screens viewed, crash data) to improve the app.

Subscription data: Purchases are handled by Apple and our subscription provider. We receive your entitlement status to unlock Pro features, not your payment card details.

How we use your information

To provide core features: UV forecasts, AI skin analysis, tanning routines, exposure tracking, and alerts.

To personalize your sun-safety plan and recommendations.

To operate, maintain, and improve the app and diagnose problems.

To manage your subscription and unlock the features you paid for.

Third-party services

We work with service providers who process data on our behalf: an AI provider for skin-scan analysis, a weather data provider, a subscription and paywall provider, an attribution provider for measuring ad performance, and a product-analytics provider. Each processes only the data needed for its function.

Apple provides WeatherKit, HealthKit, and App Store purchases under Apple's own privacy terms.

App Tracking Transparency

We ask for your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites for advertising measurement. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

Data retention and security

We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service. Skin-scan images are not retained longer than necessary to generate your result. We use encryption in transit and reasonable safeguards to protect your data.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You can revoke location, camera, notification, and Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Deleting the app removes locally stored data from your device.

Children

Tansie is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
